This week, I looked at my checking account and saw just $5.00. As a Christian single mom, that moment could’ve crushed me. But instead, I whispered, “Lord, You are my provider.” I reminded myself that God doesn’t need a full bank account to fill my life with blessings—He just needs an open heart.
My husband walked away from the responsibilities God placed on him. That truth still stings some days. But I’m not raising my three boys in bitterness—I’m raising them in boldness, in the truth of Scripture, and in the presence of God. My prayer is for them to grow into Godly men who love the Lord, respect women, and walk humbly with Jesus.
This week, instead of focusing on what we don’t have, I’m showing them what we do have:
🌳 Nature to explore
🎨 Art to create
đź“– Stories of our faith and history to learn
🎶 Music to dance to
🤝 Time together to bond, laugh, and pray
We’re doing free things around our city this week—public parks, the library, walking trails, free museum days, and a splash pad picnic with peanut butter sandwiches. These aren’t just activities—they’re moments to teach character, creativity, and Christ-centered values.
We’re learning from the Bible every morning before we go out. And I remind my boys:
"Better a little with the fear of the Lord than great wealth with turmoil."
—Proverbs 15:16
"The righteous lead blameless lives; blessed are their children after them."
—Proverbs 20:7
Even when money is tight, I want my children to see a mama who walks by faith, not fear. Who gives thanks in every season. Who chooses joy. Who leans into the Lord, even when the world leans away.
Because I believe:
God honors the mother who gives her children love, truth, and time—even more than toys or trips.
If you’re a mama struggling like me, I see you. God sees you. Keep praying. Keep going. Keep showing up for those babies. You're not alone, and you're not failing. You are planting seeds of righteousness, even in the soil of hardship.
With all my heart,
Kerri Anderson đź’—
