"What kind of legacy are we leaving behind?"
Today, I'll gather with family to celebrate the life of my great aunt. Funerals have a way of slowing us down. They remind us that life isn't measured only by the things we owned, the titles we held, or even the money we made. It's measured by the people we loved, the lives we touched, and the faith we carried through every season.
As I sat working on my website today, I realized something.
I'm not just building an online store.
I'm building something I pray will continue helping people long after today's to-do list is finished.
For a long time, I thought success meant selling more products, listing more inventory, or finding the next opportunity to make ends meet. As a single mom and caregiver, those things certainly matter. Bills still need to be paid, groceries still need to be bought, and responsibilities don't disappear.
But today my perspective shifted.
Every blog post I write...
Every free resource I create...
Every encouraging message I share...
Every tool I recommend...
Every prayer journal...
Every printable...
Every video...
They're all bricks in something much bigger than a business.
They're part of a legacy.
A place where I hope someone finds hope after a difficult divorce.
A place where a single mom discovers she isn't alone.
A place where someone learns how to start an online business and gains confidence to try something new.
A place where faith and practical help come together.
When we think about legacy, we often imagine something far away in the future. But legacy is built one decision at a time.
It's built when we choose kindness.
When we choose integrity.
When we encourage instead of criticize.
When we keep going even when the path is difficult.
Jesus reminded His followers not to store up treasures that fade away, but to invest in things that have eternal value. Businesses can grow. Products can be sold. Websites can change. But lives changed through love, generosity, encouragement, and faith carry a value that cannot be measured.
Tomorrow, as I remember my great aunt and spend time with family, I'll also be reminded that every day is a gift from God.
I want to use that gift well.
Not simply to build a successful business.
But to build something that reflects His love.
If Blessed Be The Gift can encourage one hurting heart...
Help one family...
Inspire one woman to believe she can rebuild...
Or remind one person that God has not forgotten them...
Then every late night, every lesson learned, and every small step forward will be worth it.
Because in the end, our greatest accomplishments won't be measured by what we accumulated.
They'll be measured by what we gave away.
