To the fathers who lead their homes in truth, love, and sacrifice — Happy Father's Day.
As a single mother who has walked through the pain of divorce, abandonment, and unmet vows, I want to share from a place of forgiveness and faith. I’ve been divorced three times. I've known the heartbreak of being left alone to carry the weight of parenting, provision, and protection. But through it all, God has never left me.
When a man walks away from his vows and refuses to provide for or protect his children, someone must stand in the gap. That someone is often us — the mothers. Not because we want to do it all, but because love requires it.
I am choosing not to stay bitter, but to grow better. I forgive. I release. And I continue to pray for the man I once believed would be the leader of our home.
I still believe in godly marriage.
I still desire a man who fears the Lord, honors his vows, and leads his family with strength and humility. But until then, I obey God in my singleness. Because He is faithful, and He equips me to do both roles when needed.
I thank God for my own father — a man who showed me what sacrifice and love look like. His quiet strength and devotion to his family taught me what a man of God is supposed to be.
To the men of God:
We need you.
Your wives need you.
Your children need you.
The Kingdom of God needs you.
"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."
— Joshua 1:9
"But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever."
— 1 Timothy 5:8
"Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her."
— Ephesians 5:25
"Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord."
— Ephesians 6:4
To every single mother reading this — stay the course. You are not alone.
With God, we will make it. Even when the one who said “I do” chose to say “I don’t,” we will still choose to say "I will" — for our children, our homes, and our God.
Happy Father's Day — to the real fathers, and to the moms who wear both hats with grace.
With love,
Kerri Anderson ❤️
