There’s a moment in every single mom’s life where you pause, take a deep breath, and wonder… How am I going to make this work? The weight of motherhood, bills, meals, school, and soul-deep exhaustion can feel like too much. I know. I’ve lived it.
But what I also know is this: God never called us to carry it alone.
I spent years chasing job listings, interviewing, and wondering if anyone would take a chance on me again—after the divorces, the disappointments, and the detours. But every closed door was really God saying, Daughter, I have something different for you. Better.
And one day, in the stillness, He whispered: Use what I’ve already put in your hands.
That was the beginning of my journey from surviving to serving—through reselling, digital downloads, caregiving, and encouraging other moms through “Blessed Be the Gift.” It didn’t start with a business plan. It started with faith.
Surrendering the Financial Storm
Money has always been a sensitive subject for me. The bills didn’t stop when my marriage did. The expenses didn’t pause just because I was tired. But in my surrender, I learned to lean on Jehovah Jireh—our Provider.
Instead of focusing on what I didn’t have, I began to ask God what I could do with what I did have: time at home, a creative heart, and the calling to help others.
If you're in a season of financial pressure, don’t let fear silence your gifts. Ask God to show you how to steward what He’s given you—and watch Him multiply it in ways you never imagined.
Time Management as Worship
Being a single mom means you're the chef, the counselor, the teacher, the nurse—and somehow still expected to work a full-time job. But I’ve learned that time management isn’t just about productivity—it’s about worship.
When I start my day in the Word and ask God to guide my schedule, something shifts. I trade my overwhelm for His peace. I make space to hear Him. I give Him my to-do list and trust that what’s meant to get done—will.
Try blocking off time for your business, your rest, and your Bible. Treat your time like the treasure it is. God honors our stewardship.
You Are Equipped Right Now
You don’t need a fancy office, a huge following, or a perfect past to start your own business. You just need your yes.
Scripture says:
“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.” – Ephesians 2:10 (NLT)
Mama, you are a masterpiece. The gifts inside you—your creativity, compassion, wisdom, hustle, and heart—are not random. They are part of your assignment.
Whether it’s reselling, creating digital downloads, caregiving, coaching, or encouraging others—your business can be a ministry. Your story can be someone else’s breakthrough.
A Final Word for You, Mama
If you’ve been looking for work and keep hearing “no,” maybe it’s time to listen for God’s “yes.”
Yes to starting something new.
Yes to stepping into faith.
Yes to becoming the CEO of your own story.
Don’t despise small beginnings. Don’t let fear steal your future. You are not behind—you are becoming.
I’m cheering for you, praying for you, and walking this journey with you.
With all my heart,
Kerri Anderson 💗
