There are moments in life when you think you're simply showing up to learn something new, only to realize God had a much bigger purpose.
Today, I logged into a women's Christian business webinar expecting to take notes, learn strategies, and gather ideas for growing my business. As a single mom trying to rebuild financially while caring for my family, I thought I was there to gain knowledge.
Five minutes in, I was in tears.
The message centered around surrender and trusting God's will over our own plans. It reminded me that no matter how carefully I try to organize my life, build my business, or solve every problem on my own, God is still asking me to place everything in His hands.
As women, especially as mothers, we often carry so much responsibility. We feel the pressure to have all the answers, to hold everything together, and to make sure everyone else's needs are met before our own. As a single mom, I know that feeling all too well. There are days when the weight of providing, parenting, caregiving, and pursuing dreams can feel overwhelming.
Yet God gently reminds us that we were never meant to carry these burdens alone.
During the webinar, my dad came into the room to check on me. In that simple moment, I was reminded of God's own heart toward us. Just as an earthly father notices when his child is hurting, our Heavenly Father sees every tear, every fear, and every unanswered prayer. He comes close to us in our moments of weakness.
I realized that perhaps God didn't bring me to this webinar just to learn about business. Maybe He brought me there to remind me that before He calls us into anything, He calls us to Himself.
The truth is, I don't know exactly where God is leading me. I don't know what my business will look like a year from now or how every financial need will be met. But I do know this:
God has been faithful through every season of my life.
He has carried me through heartbreak.
He has sustained me through uncertainty.
He has strengthened me as a mother.
He has provided when I couldn't see a way forward.
And He isn't finished writing my story.
Maybe you're reading this feeling overwhelmed too. Perhaps you're trying to hold your family together, pursue a dream God placed on your heart, or simply make it through another day. If so, know that you don't have to have it all figured out.
God isn't asking for perfection.
He's asking for surrender.
To trust Him one step at a time.
To release the fear of not being enough.
To believe that He can do more with our obedience than we could ever accomplish through striving alone.
Tonight, I am choosing to surrender my plans, my worries, my business goals, and my future into God's hands. Not because I have all the answers, but because I trust the One who does.
"Father, if You are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but Yours be done."
— Luke 22:42
Friend, whatever you are facing today, remember this:
You are seen.
You are loved.
You are not carrying this alone.
God is with you, and His plans for your life are greater than anything you could imagine.
With love and faith,
Kerri Anderson ♥
